Is there a book in everyone?

I believe there is, and staying with the theme of New Year, with it's ability to give us fresh purpose and perspective, hopefully it also reveals in us that still, quiet voice that says. "I'd like to have a go at that, I've always wanted to...". When I talk to people about how and why I started writing, and the journey it has taken me on, more often than not each person has shared with me a dream, that whisper from their still, quiet voice.

When a pebble enters calm waters, and those beautiful ripples flow from it's core, if we would only allow that still, quiet voice to grow and grow, just like those ripples, who knows what we might be capable of achieving!

When I first sat down one late afternoon in January 2020, determined to finally put down on paper the idea that had been knocking around in my grey matter for over a decade, I had no idea what I was doing or where it might lead. Somehow I just knew that I couldn't ignore that still, quiet voice any longer. And, although my path is much clearer to me now, the future, as always, is still an unknown.

I saw a message on a board the other day, it read ~ 'Fear is a reaction. Courage is a choice'. Through my writing journey I have learnt to embrace this and simply take it one step at a time. I threw my pebble into the water, and I have to say, the ripples are very exciting.

So, I encourage you to throw your pebble into the water. See what happens. Even more important — Embrace and enjoy the journey.
