In Submission - The Battle Is Real

I braved it and started the process of querying agents interested in middle grade children's fantasy/magical realism back in August 2023 and honestly, writing my manuscript (68k words) was easier, more fun and less stressful, go figure!
However, if you desire to go down the traditional publishing route then it is an integral part of the journey, and so I am determined to embrace it, push through the frustration, rejection, and fear and continue to focus on all that I am learning. I am focused on enjoying the growth as I constantly improve my art of writing.
I was part of the GetABookDeal101/P2P writing community and they were a massive help in getting me to where I am now. At present I am a member of Jericho Writers - Founder Harry Bingham. These groups are invaluable and without their resources, support, knowledge, cheerleading, feedback, and collaboration I would have thrown in the towel a long time ago.
For all those out there on this same journey I say - Stick with it! I sometimes don't get to focus on my writing for weeks, even months, but if it's in your blood then you WILL go back to it, and sometimes that fresh perspective after a break can be the best tonic for your motivation and inspiration.
Today I am working on social media, looking at the structure and plot of my WIP (work-in-progress), having listened to a tutorial this morning that Megan Collins did for Jericho Writers. Then I'll do more research on the agents I want to submit to, and finally I will complete one submission to an agent on by 'B' list.
Writing can be a very solitary and isolating experience but for the wonder of the world wide web. So what's happening on your writing journey? I'd love to hear from you.
