Here's to 2022

Happy New Year to you and thank you for visiting my blog. I find it is always a time of great hope, great expectation, and resolutions. On the back of two tough years in 2020 and 2021, I want to keep these things in the forefront of my mind and not allow myself to be distracted from my goals.

This year I am choosing to focus on growing my career as an author and all that entails. At the middle stage of my life, (I'm proud to be in my 50's and embarking on this new chapter as an author) it is exciting to embrace new learning and growth, even when the destination is an unknown and a tad scary.

This week I am starting to hear back from my beta readers, and so far the comments are very positive, with excellent reviews and constructive feedback. From this exercise I will be able to confidently do the re-writes and revisions necessary to my manuscript in preparation for querying agents sometime in April.

In the meantime, I am intermittently updating areas of my website and getting to grips with the whole social media arena, whilst trying not to disappear down a rabbit hole. Which, I have discovered, is all too easy to do, especially on Twitter. I'm getting there slowly.

As this is my first blog post of 2022, I will put it out there to the universe that this is the year I intend to find a wonderful agent who is a great fit for me and my manuscript. A person who will become an invaluable business partner and friend. I hope to get that book deal and become published. And, I want to continue to create writing that will be memorable, entertaining, educational, and a joy to those who read it. I hope you will follow me on this journey and share with others.
